Their where a few quirks in this book that made it often hard to get into. However none the less it was a very suprising and intresting story. The fact that the entire book is from the point of view of a real person, In a real situation shows they're mentality in this situation. This intrests me personally because i can compare his reactions to mine, like i often do with books like this.

The downside to reading a 300 page book in this fashion, is that it gets repetitive. Really repettitive... While the book often has exciting stories and suprises about his and other captors treatment. But when some 200 pages are filled with "Reconnaissance", on things like how numerous yet completely nostalgic arabic armies are, or ways to escape an installation through a hole in the fence, do get a bit hard to read.

With the bad does come good. Althought the book may become reppettitive at times, as most books do, it had many unuiqe aspects i'd never seen in literature before. The first being he held nothing back, he hid nothing i would later have to research, he opened up all of his thoughts, shared idea he had, as well as how the brain fo a soldier works in a situation like being held hostage. Also he described everything in great detail, to the point where i felt like i was their for most of the book.

This is still a rather interesting book, and it tought me a few things i probablly never would of learned otherwise. I would reccomend this book to anyone who enjoys POW stories, but even by POW stories this book is still an oddball.

EVENT PRT 2: The rise of the Nazi party

 The Nazi Party "(from the German Nazi, abbreviated from the pronunciation of Nationalsozialist)", was a political party in Germany between 1919 and 1945. It was known as the German Workers' Party (DAP) prior to a change of name in 1920. The party's last leader, Adolf Hitler ( ewww ), was appointed Chancellor of Germany by president Paul von Hindenburg in 1933. Hitler rapidly established a totalitarian regime known as the Third Reich.

However Hitelr was not the original leader of the Nazi party, Anton Drexler was the original leader of the party, when it was founded in 1918. he left power soon after  in 1923.

The ideas of the nazi party stressed the failures of laissez-faire capitalism, communism, economic liberalism, and democracy; supported the "racial purity of the German people" and that of other Europeans, and claimed itself as the protector of Germany from the Jewish influence and corruption. Their views eventually led to the start of world war 2 with hitler and the third reich as the main  source of conflict.

EVENTS PRT2: The Palmer Raids

The Palmer Raids were attempts by the U.S. Department of Justice to arrest and deport radicals, especially anarchistic rebels, in the united states. The raids and arrests occurred in November 1919 and January 1920 under Attorney General A. Mitchell Palmer. Though more than 500 citizens were deported, which included a number of prominent radical leaders. Palmer's efforts were largely questioned by the US Department of Labor who had the rights of deportation and they objected who objected to Palmer's methods and disrespect for the legal processes involved. The Palmer Raids occurred in the context of the Red Scare, the term given to fear of and reaction against political radicals in the U.S., and world wide in the years immediately following World War I. For fears of socialism and Fascism's and communism.

Rise of socialism 20's

The 20's was a time of great tension which lay between the two world wars and the great depression, with all the criticisms towards governments socialism, communism and fascism began to rear their ugly heads. The basic idea of socialism and communism is to have a perfect society, where the government is controlled by a  classless society that doesn't depend on currency. its generally you do your job society will thrive perfectly, also the theory of it also means that markets cant be exploited and distorted, like in capitalist society. While Fascism's is the exact opposite a society from corporate point of view simply profits i suppose, a hard calculating number crunching cold society.

Important People part 3: the 31st president

Herbert Hoover, a former advisor to the 29th president was sworn in, in 1929. and was the president during famous great depression when the stock market crashed, which sort of over shadows everything else he did, eh left office with the highest debt in history left behind from any president.

Important People part 2: the 30th president

Calvin Coolidge, At 2:30 on the morning of August 3, 1923, while visiting in Vermont, Calvin Coolidge received word that he was President. He was sworn in on his family bible the same day. He had become the 30th president of the united states overnight, with the death of former president Warren G. Harding, via heart attack, know as being a strong determined president he won re-election in 1924. He often supported the econimcal boom and refused to on things like foreign policies and government checks on the current economic vote. it made him a huge hit, and probably one of the contributions to the eventual stock market crash
